The story behind the design: Based on the design of the Della Cavalleria scarf Equestrian art is a prime topic in the Émile Hermès collection. An extraordinary equestrian depiction, called Della Cavalleria, was gifted to him. The German author, Georg Engelhard von Löhneysen, painted this work in 1609 in his home in Bavaria. Made up of various baroque engravings on wood and leather, this book is an encyclopedia: dressage, anatomy, as well as tournaments and festivals, give way to remarkable and spectacular illustrations.
