The Mission Of The "mosquito" Unit Was To Locate Enemy Ground Installations And Enemy Troop Movements And Drop Smoke Bombs To Radio The Overflying Fighter Bombers Through Ground Units So That They Could Attack Any Targets. The Name "mosquito" Was Given To This Unit Because It Was Literally Like A "mosquito," Unpredictable As To When And Where It Would Appear, And They Were Abhorred And Feared By The North Korean Military.
